Helping Hands

I guess we craftsmen/women probably have many of the same experiences of helping those who just are'nt able to fix broken wooden  things or are of limited ability , or space, or tools, etc. That's where those of us who can, do.

Just got 2 more "Help Me" calls.  And what are friends for, so 2 more projects. (I honestly enjoy the challenge).      One is a broken chair spindle from an oak dinning set, but it really is much more. This is not a quick glue up....   A new spindle has to be turned, then fitted to the legs and cross spindle, while keeping the angles close .  You know to fix it, it has to be taken apart first, and put back together.. and he needs it for Thanksgiving  He is a good friend so will try.

Then  yesterday, a lady friend of ours, brought a  large picture  in a frame, with a broken corner . She dropped it, taking it down to take to a silent auction, as part of a fund raiser for a locale Hospice "gateway" house  They need it ASAP.  Our local Glass Co. donated the glass, so now, I can fix the frame.

Hey don't forget our Veterans Day Tues Nov 11.  Tell a uniformed military; "Thanks for your service."
